A good chance you would have already heard about the Zune hard drive hack and the Wifi one, but since we were offline, we did not have a chance to post about it, so now we are :)
So what the deal is with this hack is you are able to move documents to and from your Zune, it pretty much just becomes a 30 gig ( or 80gig) portable hard drive. Here is the tutorial on how to do it. Full props to guys at ZuneBoards.com for this hack as well.
- To make your Zune a Hard drive follow this tutorial
- To add files to your Zune follow this tutorial
This is a very primitive way of doing this and I really do not recommend you do this if you are not very computer literate. I am looking at having a program made to make this all much simpler for the users. So if any programmers out there, would love to hear from you, drop me a line at coops8D (at symbol) gmail.com
First, we heard this morning from David Caulton of Microsoft’s Zune team that “Zune won’t be undercut on price by iPod”. Then Gizmodo leaked a story indicating that Microsoft met yesterday to determine the price of the first Zune player.
Apparently Microsoft had initially set $289.99, to undercut iPod’s $299 price for its 30GB player. But after last week’s price breaks from Apple, knocking the 30GB to $249, Microsoft pushed the price down to $229.99.
We’re loving the aggressiveness of Microsoft’s pricing. It’s a clear gauntlet-drop - and says a lot about Microsoft’s determination to grab a generous slice of Apple’s pie.
Just had a clip sent to me from our Zune tipster showing off the Zune interface and how it all works. Have a look and let us know what you think of it all.
Recently, buddies over at Gizmodo made a post about a new keyboard coming out that will have a built in dock for the Zune.
As you can see its pretty spiffy looking, although I have been in contact with someone working at Microsoft and they have nor denied or confirmed this. There for really just leaving us to wonder is this a real product? Or just another photoshoped image.
One thing makes you wonder is, the Sirus image on the Zune was a photoshoped Zune from a while ago. Why would Microsoft use that if this was a real product? Ether ways we will keep you updated on this nice looking keyboard.
