No Love from Apple to Microsoft…
Appears Apple or some Apple fan boy has taken out a little adwords campaign against the Zune, with the add saying “Welcome to the DeadZune.com” and clicking the add takes you to the iPod site.
I got this add when googling for “zune” but this was on Australian Google, so not sure if same add will show up for others.

I’ll out money on the table that it’s someone from Apple wasting their money on a domain just so it can redirect to the iPod site on Apple.com.
It’s a never-ending fued between Microsoft and Apple, obvisouly Apple is jealous if they resort to banners harassing Microsoft, and websites redirecting the the iPod site.
pffft followed your links mate, can’t even find the page.
I doubt Apple would bother with such tactics as it already controls 90% of the market… they prefer to focus on delivering good products to their consumers (such as the recent revamp of the iPod lineup) rather than handing out promises to the market.
‘obviously Apple is jealous’… really, what of? They have a product out there which is raking in hundreds of millions. iTunes Music Store has M$ beaten already… again… 90% of legal music downloads… all of which are only playable on the iPod. What does Microsoft have besides promises about some new MP3 player that will apparently be far better than the iPod.
Obviously Microsoft sees the iPod as being a golden standard as it keeps comparing its Zune to the iPod through pathetic employee-made fan sites and blogs about the Zune.
I have both a Zune and an iPod, and the Zune is by far way better than Apple would ever think of.
Oh, and Microsoft is raking in BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars each year, where as Apple is raking in far less.
Oh, and since your doing a double-negative, bashing the company, and the employee’s, i suggest you do your homework and realize Apple employee’s are making sites tarnishing the Zune(because they know its a big hit) and creating deceptive websites that link only to Apple’s iPod page.
Have fun eating shit tonight.
How do you have a Zune Josh?
You work for Microsoft?
I dont have one, my aunt does. She’s a Microsoft Services Executive.
Sorry Josh, but thats not true.
I myself work for microsoft and have helped program the Zune.
They have not been given to anyone, not even employees.
On a side note, i have an ipod, and a few friends who work for apple, there really isnt much of a fight as individuals, but as companys, so no disgruntled employees are making those sites, just immature customers.
Funny, I could swear that you were trying to bash the iPod on this site. Apple has made no comments on the Zune officially, and with its 90% market share of the MP3 player market I can’t see why it would bother giving Microsoft the honor of the publicity that would be caused by directly attacking their competition as if it were a serious competitor.
Look if you have a Zune then eat your own words and tell me why I should replace my iPod with one. If you can’t innovate then you can always imitate, but of course it will never be as good as the original:
Zune and iPod side by side…
iPod has nearly 3x the storage space
Zune = 30gb —-> iPod = 80gb
iPod looks cooler… really the zune just looks like a cheap copy, as do the other failed copies from companies such as Dell, Creative…etc (screen at the top and a circle below it which is used for navigation)
iPod is much thinner
Zune = 0.58″ thick —> iPod = 0.47″ thick (nano = 0.27″)
iPod exists and is the gold standard with 90% of the market! I can buy 3 types of iPod today if I like… which the Zune will apparently have in the future as well, but why wait months for a copy of something that is already out there?
Ipod does not have 90% of market it is 70%, or could be 80% but it is defiantly not 90%
