1) Yep, but many people have wifi disabled do to lack of others they want to share with..it drains the battery.
2) It takes FOREVER to do video, and it can not convert iTunes store purchased songs(several hundred dollars worth in my case)
3) I typically shuffle by genre so not that big a deal.
4)I don't need/want people to know I am listening to n'Sync
5) So does a $30 mps3 player..if I wanted radio...I would have a cheap radio.
6) Yes, larger screen..but still pretty small for really getting into movies, I want an IPhone sized screen
7) Most players are firmare updateable..How much has MSFT(the worlds leading software company) done with this feature so far in the first year?
8) Um..ok

I am not bashing teh Zune, just pointing out some facts. I have a Zune on order, and hope they totally blow everyone away with v2.0..but from the limited rumors, it looks just like more of the same. I think Apple saw the threat and decided to TOTALLLY leapfrom them this generation.

The Archos 604 wifi can do most of these things and more. The only two things that the 604 wifi doesn't offer that the Zune does are listening to the radio and creating a profile. The Archos has wifi capabilities to use the internet, a touch screen, external speaker, built-in microphone for recording, a screen the size of a PSP's, and the ability to store tv shows like a DVR using the dock. But the Zune and the 604 wifi do have one major thing in common; they're under appreciated media players.

Alot of these are not revolutionary differences. Many PMP's have FM radio, upgradeable firmware, support playlist creation on the go, are bundled with conversion software, and have similar size screens.

Thanks for the useful comments! Just goes to show that there are a lot of great MP3 players out there that go unnoticed by the masses.

Doesn't work with Plays for Sure!
I have 3 players and a napster sub that won't work with this, so I would have to have two different programs load the players and two different stores.
It wont even work through Windows Media Player
Wifi tranfered files only play 3 times even if files have no DRM
They really didn't do anything with the WiFi. How about a Zune home on MSN that was like Yahoo where you could do some pim stuff, SMS weather calendar, stocks.... when in a hotspot area.

I have a Zune and I totally agree. I just saw part of the guided tour for the new iPod Touch and i'm pretty upset that some of the features Zune had ended up in that vid. iPod used the WiFi to allow users to buy music and surf the net right on the device. The landscape mode on their sceen has more options when it comes to pics and vids and it's thinner than the Zune. I hope Zune's new models have a lot more useful features cuz it's gonna take a lot to blow iPod's new iPhone-like device out of the water.
