Zune Car Dock and 80 gig Zune?
IME, a company who develops accessories and docks that allow media players to be integrated with vehicles. Has been showing off their new integration dock for the Zune, which should allow you to easily dock your Zune on top of your cars dashboard. They have done such a good job doing this integration that Microsoft has made these guys the Official Vehicle Integration Solution partners.
The Integration system has the following features:
- Play high quality video and audio
- Connects to all entertainment systems in the vehicle
- Remote control for your Zune
- Seamless integration
- Charges Zune
But now here is the kicker, either someone at IME got their wires crossed or they have leaked some info on a possible 80 gig Zune in the works. Seem like its the new trend for retailers to ether leek info or mess it up. So Zune 60 gig and an 80 gig in the works? or just some clerical errors?

[…] Remember the post about the IME Zune car integration? Here is video of it working. […]
The IME Dock looks okay, but where is the standardized mouting option? What I am looking for is a slide-in cradle using AMPS bolt pattern, and a dedicated FM Modulator (think about how the way the Delphi satellite radios work with their FMDirect adapter) that is only powered on when the Zune is on, and its a slim mount that I can attach to a Pro-Fit vehicle specific mount.
A Zune car dock is a good idea but what you are showing looks weak. There must be a zune dock that fit and tight strongly to the zune like a cartridge.Needs a flexible and rotary arm (for video we need to rotate the zune and for play music rotate again)
That does Exist I just saw that very item at FYE today. Here it is.
TuneBase FM Transmitter for Zune
I bought one of these, the transmitter, does not work very well at all, it fades in and out a lot. I recommend another solution.
When will the IME dock for the zune come out and how much will it cost. Please let me know.
it should be out in mid december around the 15th, “right before christmas” (go figure)
I have used the Belkin TuneBase Transmitter/Dock for the Zune and although the design is great, the performance is less than expected. The FM transmitter is very weak and will not pick up on “open” FM frequencies and produces a noisy signal. Also since my car stereo has an auxillary input when I try using the TuneBase with my car’s aux input it picks up a lot of engine noise but that is better than using the FM transmitter. I know that some of Belkin’s other standalone FM transmitter like the TuneCast II perform much better in comparison to the TuneBase transmitter. I’m just hoping Belkin can make a new Car Dock for the Zune with a better FM transmitter and one that will not pick up engine noise.
I want to Unplug the Factory Radio on my 2006 Nissan Titan Truck, Plug in a Tee Adapter that has a Zune Plug at one end that will then work through my Factory Radio on the Aux Mode. WHY DOES THIS NOT EXIST ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
The FM Tuner Kit is 100% Trash it does not work at all it is Junk and only works when I want to hear static and several songs played over top of each other at the same time.
The ZUNE is the GREATEST MP3 Player in the History of the World. Every Day I Defend it against the IPOD but the IPOD will work in your car, and the ZUNE won’t? Come on Guys Please Help Me Out here?
What is the ISSUE? Is it MONEY? Maybe we can raise a FEW BILLION DOLLARS to Invest in this Technology?
IME hasn’t answered a phone call of mine or returned a message re: the release of “The System” and “The Dock” in the past week. Did they go belly-up from lack of capital?
I’m going to pick up a Home A/V Kit for the Zune, strip out the extra components on the dock, run the aux cables through the center console on my RX-8 and mount the dock on the top of the dashboard… should enable audio sync running through the Aux input on my head unit. Therein lies my next problem… I’m greedy, and want it to charge at the same time. Thoughts on splitting the cable running out of the dock to an aux cable set AND a 12V connection I can run into the electrical system?
I have a ipod car kit in my car. I am looking for a connection device to fit my zune to the kit, but there seems to be nothing like that. I dont want to remove the ipod kit, I just want to use it with my zune. I want to know if this is possible..
