Zunes New Color

Its been confirmed that the “baby pink” colored Zune will be coming out come May 1st but there are also rumors around on what is the other color Microsoft’s Zune team plan on releasing. It seems logical that it will be the orange colored Zune that was given to Zune team members and the 100 special editions Zuns that were sold on the Zune launch.

How ever there have been speculations that they will be releasing a “Watermelon (redish) colored Zune. I personally think should stick to the 3 main ones and concentrate on improvements on the Zune its self, be it firmware updates or the next gen of Zune. Although a pink colored one is not the worst idea, as it was taking in pretty well by others and seemed to be a hot item to get, specially on eBay, but it should stop there. There really isn’t any need for a Black, Brown, White, Orange, Pink, Red. Then again I might be wrong and there are people out there that would love an orange colored Zune, who knows, let us know what you think.

Also, do you see something missing with these new colors?

Update: Here is a new pic with all the new colors so far together. Looking pretty cool!

Update 2: Ok I have left them there for now, but will take down soon. Those other pictures up the top are from ZuneScene and according to Zune-Online guys, ZuneScene photoshoped those pics and developed the fake images of pink and orange Zunes.

It actually is quite clear if you look at the pictures there compared to the “Baby Pink” colored Zune in the official picture from the Zune team.

Shame they have to stoop to fake images for news…

Heck, it was confirmed way before Cesar, a Zune team employee for goodness sakes, finally blogged about it - Amazon beat him to it!! And I’ll be damned if I didn’t read sometime ago on Engadet that pink Zune’s would be release commercially.

I’m finished with reading Zuneinsider, I’m off to Engadget, and yes, Amazon to get my news about Zune’s

I think new colors are a great idea. What many users are looking for in a player is customization, personality. The reason I was attracted to the Zune was the looks, THEN I checked out the features. When people go to Best Buy looking for an iPod, the new Zunes will catch their eye instead.

While functionality and features are important to tech geeks like you and me, the majority of mp3 player buyers out there don’t give a crap what the player does (just look at all the people still buying ipods, right?) they want something that will look cool in their hand.

[…] Well didn’t see this one coming, all the talk about red, orange and pink Zunes but then out of left field comes this “Copper” colored Zune. This Zune has appeared on the Office Depot website for same price as all other Zune ($249). Some people are putting this down as a miss labeled Brown Zune, but talking to an Office Depot rep, the word I was told is that this is in fact a new Zune color that just came out while on the other hand after speaking to Zune customer support their word is “I don’t know of any new colors”. i think they should just keep the brown, black, and white and improve on the quality of the media player itself. it will bring the company alot more popularity than just comming up with new color schemes.
God is love mike

It does look possible to be just a mis-labeled brown Zune, however it does seem a bit to dark to be brown, then again that could be the lighting or something. Either way we will soon find out. […]
