Zune 80 wins PC Magazine’s “Editor’s Choice” Award
Microsoft’s Zune 80 has won PC Magazine’s “Editor Choice” award. You can read the full review here. This is telling since the iPod Touch and several other new MP3 players have hit the market around the same time as the Zune 80.

Its not THAT telling. If people buy Zunes then they’re locked into PCs. PC Magazine wants people to buy Windows so as to increase their potential readership. They also want to please their readers who are, in the main, Microsoft affectionadoes.
So, they’re hardly objective are they?

Another fact you may not have considered is that with the Mac and Apple solutions, you are locked into a far more finite and vendor specific system. Only Macs run on Mac software, and Mac software only runs on a Mac. At least with a PC you have the choice of Windows or LInux. The same with Zunes. Zunes and the Microsoft business model is that you can buy any hardware you want and Microsoft will provide software to support it. Apple/Mac/Ipood doesn’t offer the same versatility. You have to buy thier software and thier hardware. Doesn’t sound like much of choice to me.
