Microsoft Says “not now” to German Market regarding Zune
According to Heise Online the German market is a “no go” for the Microsoft Zune in the near term. The main reasons given are the complexity of the German market and the pricing of most MP3 players in Germany.
“The German market for MP3 players is one of the most difficult on the planet”, Stephan Brechtmann said, putting Microsoft’s challenge with marketing the Zune in Germany in a nutshell. Brechtmann, who is responsible for “entertainment & devices” at Microsoft Germany, announced that the vendor won’t compete against Apple’s iPod in the near future. “German consumers are not easily impressed with product labels”, he says.
I would have thought with the Euro being so strong against the U.S. dollar now would have been the best time! Make your opinion count on the Zune Forum.
