Here is a confirmed list of wireless routers that are compatible with the Zune software and syncing.

What kind of routers don’t support the wireless sync feature?
Not sure. This is a confirmed list of routers. I don’t know of the ones that do not work.
You should add the chipset used by each of those routers to this page so people can check their routers that are not in the list, then you’ll have a better overview of what can and can’t be used.

You can add the 3Com OfficeConnect 11G PoE. I’m using that one successfully here in my office.

I have a Microsoft router…that they don’t make anymore. And I can’t get it to work with wireless sync.
is there any way to bypass the incompatibility?
i have a netgear router but not the same 1 as on the list.
