Playing Zune Media on the Xbox 360
One of the great features of the Zune is that it is the only Mp3/Media player that works with the Xbox 360. You can play any of your media on your Zune onto your TV or entertainment center through the Xbox 360. You will need a home network, the Zune Software on your computer an Xbox 360 and an Xbox Dashboard version 2.0.5766 or later.
On your computer
1. Plug in your Zune to your computer through the cable or Zune Dock
2. Once the Zune Software starts up on your computer click Settings, Software, and Sharing.
3. Click Enable media sharing with Xbox 360
4. Type your collection name, then click Set name
5. Choose Music, Video, or Pictures.
6. You have two options; Share with all available Xbox 360 systems or Share only with these Xbox 360 systems
On your Xbox:
1. Select Media
2. Select Music, Video, or Pictures.
3. Select Computer.
4. Select the item you want to view/listen to
for some reason, whenever I try to play WMA Loseless songs on my 360 they are always choppy, so Im hering all of it, but in slow, spaced segments. Is this because the 360 doesnt support WMA Loseless or is there something wrong with my zune 30 or 360?
I have the exact problem, and related it directly to the optional media update you can download from xbox live.
I burned one song from a CD I had not using lossless and it worked fine, but any song burned with lossless does not work through your xbox 360…
I bought the AV Dock, which comes with a remote… it shows the Zune on your TV, just like you are looking direclty at your Zune device. I used the componet cables to the HDTV and the red and white to my receiver… Sounds great, and you will like the remote and using the Zune this way rather than with the xbox controler/remote. Plus through the xbox you don’t get to see the album photo people work so hard to get right….
i updated the zune software to the new version and all of a sudden the picture media browsing is all messed up. i can now only browse 2 folders and a few of the pics in each of the folders, while i have dozens of folders and pics…nice…
I suggest re-installing the software!
zune is not the only mp3 player to work wit the xbox 360
not trying to be rude but my ipod works perfect on my xbox 360
and u dont even have to touch the ipod to make it connect
jus plug in both ends of the usb cord and then go to media music
and there is ur music library
hey mike my zune will not thet me Choose Music, Video, or Pictures
got a problem maybe someone could help when i connect my zune directly to my 360 it will play my media for about 45sec and then just disconnect iv got all the latest firmware updates
Anyone know if it is possible and how to view podcasts through the 360? I can’t seem to get it to work.
Man, when I plug in my zune, for some reason it started playing everything like normal, though this time all ti does now is just play for Two secounds and just disconnects the zune. WTF?
