So, basically I have to store all my music on my hard drive AND on my Zune? I got an MP3 player so I could take stuff off my computer! Not store the same stuff in 2 different places!

I cannot find how to delete the sample items that came with my Zune. They do not show up in my Zune screen on my PC (which has Vista). All I can see are the ones I have added. How do I delete them?

I cannot delete 3 things from my Zune. According to the software, these items are not in either my device OR in my collection. These actually have been completely deleted from my computer in an attempt to get rid of them. And that's not just it, some of these are showing up multiple times. Example:

I have Guided By Voices - Half-Smiles of the Decomposed on my Zune. If I open it, there are roughly 10 copies of each song in the folder, and I cannot get rid of them from my device.

Please HELP!!!!

Frustrated in TX.

What about adding album info? I can add song titles and album name, but i can't add the artist's name. Right clicking only lets you change the album name.

I was having this problem, I had a album on there but the Zune software said there was no songs on there but the actual Zune had 2 copies of the album. I added the album to the Zune again and then deleted it and they all went away.

I'm having this same problem of multiple instances of the same song that, according to my computer, I've already deleted. Every time I sync, another instance is added even though the song is no longer on my hard drive!

I removed an album from my collection but it stayed on my zune a little while ago. When I connected the zune and clicked on device, it didn't show the songs, but when I unplugged the device they were still on there. Kind of buggy software, I can understand why there's confusion. I'm a computer programmer and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get rid of them. I had to add them back to the collection and then tell it to sync with the zune as if I wanted to add them (even though they were already on there) and then tell them to never sync with the zune and finally they were removed from the zune and I was able to remove them from the collection again. I'm not sure exactly what the sequence of events I did to make them stay on the zune in the first place, but it probably had something to do with me moving the folder that contained the songs. At any rate, if the songs still exist on the zune it should show them when you browse the device through the software but it didn't.

If you want to erase sample music, video and picture files that came with the Zune, do it BEFORE you add any of your own media. Connect to your PC and on main screen click on Device, then Settings. Under Sync Options click on Erase All Content. This wipes the Zune drive clean. If you don't do this first, you'll have to reload your own files again.
